Tales from the Strypt
Posted in Shows on 09/16/2009 04:52 pm by adminThis cold night in December will be hot and bothered when Tales from the Strypt brings a night of Burlesque & Vaudville in a celebration of all things freaky.
You’ll squeal with glee and fright when things go bump in the night.
The show will feature a number of special guests including a premier showing of Matt Ficner’s latest Creepy Puppet Project and once again, Montreal’s Dukes of Drag will also be joining the fun. To cap it all off, th performance will be followed by a dance party where audience and performers can bust their moves together. The evening promises to make the dark and cold feel hot and wicked, in the best kind of way.
Sexual Overtones prioritizes its performers’ safety and enjoyment. Audience members are expected to be respectful of performers by not taking photos or videos during the show. So leave your cameras at home, right next to your inhibitions. And while you are at it, you may as well leave your Sunday bust at home too and wear something strange. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. “We dare to scare our pants off!” says troupe member, Zorba the Greek.
Everyone ages 19+ are welcome to attend. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Ecology Ottawa, a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization working to make Ottawa the green capital of Canada.
This is a photo-free event. Absolutely no photo tking will be tolerated. Stick to your memory, not your Facebook page!
